Can I use my organization (Corporation or Foundation) as a real estate owner in my country of residence? |

This shall depend where is located your country of residence and the real estate ownership regulations in that country. Some countries require many reports, additional property taxes, and all kind of red tapes to overcome when you want to title a real estate property under the name of a foreign entity. For example: we do not recommend the use of Panamanian corporations, foundations or trusts for properties in the USA due to the report requirements, taxes, etc. imposed under the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA). If you are interested in asset protection for real estate in your country, we usually recommend to do it by using a domestic entity (corporation, LLC, or trust) and that such organization be owned by an offshore entity, such as a corporation or foundation.
