The Panama Maritime Law says that all owners of a vessels which is going to be registered in the Merchant Marine Directorate should have a representative Lawyer or Law Firm in Panamá, like an Agent Resident , press here 1. The application submitted for registry of panamanian flag, new documents or cancelling of the registered vessel suscribed in the Merchant Marine . Press here 2. Payments of taxes. Press here 3. Payments of fines, legal process at maritime judges against the vessel. 4. Receive notifications of any administrative act that should be notified to the owner of the ship, operator or captain. 5. Any other fact given by law in a power of attorney. The Agent Resident will be only responsible in front the General Directorate Merchant Marine only for the damages caused for negligence in developing acts.
